The Ashokan Center’s Ariles Son Jarocho Camp—celebrating the music of Veracruz from Friday, May 17 to Sunday, May 19 at the Ashokan Center.
A three-day camp where you can enjoy—and learn to participate in—Son Jarocho, the traditional folk music of Veracruz, Mexico. Son Jarocho master musicians, dancers and teachers from Mexico and the U.S. will teach and play and interact with Son Jarocho practitioners of every proficiency level.
The camp is open to the public. $195 -- $495; under 5 free For those who can’t attend the camp, Dia de las Familias at the Ashokan Center will be Sunday, May 19, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. This event, including transportation to and from Kingston, NY, and on-site food, is free, thanks to generous donor support.
